I have been researching on the internet and reading some real horror stories.  If you go through an agency, can you feel comfortable that they have researched the candidate thoroughly?  

Horror stories? Now I'm worried!

I am a surrogate that went through an agency and they researched me like I was a criminal (ha ha, jk). I can only speak for mine, but I felt that if I were an IP that used my agency, I would feel very comfortable with them. 

Thank you Tinkers.  That makes me feel more at ease.  Which agency are you with and what state?  Maybe I need to look for another agency.

I know how you feel. I felt that way years ago when I was researching agencies. I read about a few horror stories too. I happened to meet my TS on this website, otherwise I would've continued with my search for an agency. It can be overwhelming. I know a lot of intended moms & surrogates though that met through agencies throughout the years and everything went smooth. I would definitely do your research and ask to talk to already matched surrogates & intended parents from their agency that already went through the process.

I am going through an Agency "Family Creations". The branch I'm going through works mainly out of Callifornia, but they do have branches all over the US and international.

I to feel like they have been very thorough with both my husband and I in gathering information about us. And I am told they do the same with the Intended Parents. I am currently waiting for IP's nd couldn't be more excited :)
