I'm very new to the surrogacy world. I'm just reading about everything and the options I may have. I have a daughter from a previous marriage, but my husband and I want children together and have tried for 2 years now with no success. I'm researching surrogacy so that I at least have my options open. To those who have done this, can you please share an experience with me?

Need some help please

I have a 4 yr old son through surrogacy and we are 12 weeks pregnant with twins with our surrogate! It's a lot when you are first starting out, but it's well worth the research. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM! Bes to luck to you!

I gave birth to a beautiful baby "B"in Dec. 2009 for a wonderful couple. I still have contact with them and get to watch baby "B" grow. We have even met up a few times and it's always an amazing experience for me to see that I helped create this little baby for another couple and helped create their family. I'm sorry you've had problems for the past couple years. I hope this journey works for you.

In 2008 I gave birth to Braeden (5lbs.13oz., and was 18 inches) and Brittany (6lbs.1oz, 18 1/2 inches long) for my absolutely wonderful IPs. This journey has had a positive profound impact in my life and I'm so glad I did it. Of course there was a couple hiccups along the way, but in the end were 2 healthy, happy babies for my IPs. I couldn't be more proud. My journey is and will be my biggest and most favorite accomplishment of my life.  I wish the best for you and your future journey and hope you have your own little family very soon!

Experienced Surrogate

I have been a traditional surrogate (my egg), and it was an amazing
experience. A surrogate knows what she's doing. It's rare that a
surrogate regrets anything, it's also rare that she's doing it "just for
the money". It's hard work, but the joy of seeing happiness brought
into another family, is incredible Every day I feel honored, and thankful. Every photo I receive warms my heart.

The biggest suggestion I can give though, is to be secure in your feelings of trust for your
surrogate. I give a lot of credit to mothers-to-be through surrogacy.

There are agency's that handle surrogacy, or you can go independant. Regardless, do a LOT of research.

It's a great option

I just to let you know that using a surrogate can be a very positive and beautiful experience for everyone involved.
I was a gestational surrogate for an infertile couple and gave birth to a very healthy and happy little girl in March 2003. Both of the parents were able to attend the birth and were the first to hold their baby. I never once doubted in my mind that it would turn out to be a bad experience or that I would regret doing it. I think it is the best thing I have ever been able to do for anyone on this earth! We keep in touch still and it gives me such an amazing feeling to know that I helped them to have a family.
True, there a mnay stories out there about surrogacy gone wrong, however, there are a lot more stories about surrogacy experiences that end happily ever after. To be a surrogate, you really have to have an unwavering surety that you have completed your own family, and that you are doing it for the right reasons (to help a couple have a family) and not for the wrong reasons (money). Going in to this experience having completed my family and having infertility touch my family personally, I was able to give this gift to a couple for the right reasons. I could not have asked for anything more precious.
I hope that you find a surrogate soon and can start your own family. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. I'm a retired surrogate, but love to lurk and read everyone's stories and give advice. I don't know how I haven't seen this site before. I'm excited to stick around here and make new friends!

retired surro.. but always a lurker

We are slowly starting this as well. I've been researching for months. I'm still looking for a surrogate mother. I like hearing all of the success stories. It makes me realize that hopefully I'll be there one day too.
