I'm interested in being a surrogate for a family or person in or near Los Angeles, CA.  I am very fit and healthy, but am nearing 40 so I realize that I don't have a lot of time left to be a surrogate.  Seventeen years ago, I had an uneventful, healthy pregnancy and gave birth to a wonderful son.  Recently, several friends have become pregnant and I've had pregnancy envy since.  Ideally, I would like to be a surrogate for a family or person ready for parenting, but without the financial means.  I'm not looking for the fee; I'd just like to have the experience of being pregnant again, and as I don't need the fee, it would be nice to do it for someone who couldn't do it otherwise. I imagine that there are alot of people like this...  I don't even know how to begin the process of connecting with candidates, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You sound like a wonderful person. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck finding IPs. I think you are doing the best thing posting that you are interested in finding IPs. I was matched through an agency and that actually makes it even more expensive. It might be better for you to try and find someone independently if you are willing to waive the fee. That's amazing!

I think going at it without an agency is a good idea because it will save the IPs money. But do NOT go without a lawyer. I can't stress how important it is to have a lawyer when dealing with surrogacy. You will find the right IPs - and when you find them, you will just "know". Have you tried opts.com? Good luck!
