Hello,

I'm new to this and would like to be a Gestational Surrogate. I would like to start the process of the embryo transfer after Christmas and the new year. Should I start looking now for parents? Is it too early? What should I be doing now? I'm pretty overwhelmed right now as to where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello!!  Welcome!!  Yes you should absolutely start looking for IP's, if you want to start that soon.  I am not sure you will make it though, it took me a year to be matched once I started looking, but you very well could though.  Just just don't settle, make sure it is a perfect match and they want the same things as you do.  Are you going with a agency or independant? If you are going with a agency you should go ahead and get with a few of them and see what they say.  If you are going Indy, you should post a ad on all of the surro boards.  For your first time I reccommend agency, but there are lots of women who go Indy their first time as well.  Hope this helps, I would be glad to help you anyway I can, just message me.  Good luck!!!!

UPDATE: Well, I have been with an agency and still haven't found IPs. It is taking longer than I thought. I wonder if I should try working with other agencies as well instead of just one? That way if I'm matched I can back out of the other agencies that haven't matched me yet. Or is there an agreement? Has anyone else done this?

I have no idea how the agencies work.. but I'd suggest if you are willing to go indy, that you post classifieds on here and other surrogate boards.. Good luck and I hope you find your IPs soon!

I hope that you have been matched, but just in case....

I know when I started out I talked to two agencies but once one of the agency took me on as a surrogate I had to be exclusive with them for 3 months.
