Hello, I am going to be a GS in the U.K for our friends using donated eggs and IF's sperm which has been frozen as he is due to go abroad on duty with his job for 8 mths. The clinic have said we cannot start until the sperm has been quarantined for 6mths. Is this normal practice or just something to do with the U.K.? I don't understand why when I am not being quarantined ,neither are the eggs.We were hoping to start sooner. Many thanks for your time. |

We have the same requirements in the US unless the GS and husband are very good friends and know each other. The issue is that HIV virus can be latent for up to 6 mo before test turns +. it is for your safety. Hope that helps. |
