Any guidance on how to ask a relative to be your gestational surrogate?  It seems a daunting task.

Many thanks.

Hello, my husband and I asked a relative. I had mentioned it to her just
us two, gave her time to think about it and she talked to her husband..
then we met for dinner about a week later and it was obvious her husband was not
comfortable with it. She really wanted to, but he didn't think he could handle the process. Having the husband's support is really important. I would just mention that you are looking to find someone you can trust to do this for you, maybe she will volunteer and things will work out? Best of luck!!!

Doing just lovely!

I would just let it be known that you are looking for a surrogate. If the person is willing to help, they will volunteer.

Hopeful!

We put the word out to family (only) via email that we were going to look for a surrogate.  Then we waited to see if anybody volunteered.  We didn't get any takers but lots of support came our way.  We are now applying to an agency.  Thanks for your response.

I know how you feel. I didn't know how to ask friends/family either.. A few family members passed the idea of surrogacy around to each other and we had one family member who offered, but eventually that didn't work out because her husband and her had differences about the idea. We actually found a surrogate not too long after that and all worked out and now my son is almost 3! Best of luck to you!

Ready for Journey #2 with an amazing friend!!
