HI!!!  Just wanted to introduce myself.  I found this forum tonight & am hoping to gain tons of information on how me & my DH can become Intended Parents.  Here is a little background on our situation.

When I was 16 I found out I had Mullerian Agenisis or as it's sometimes referred as Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome.  Which means I was born without a uterus and only part of the cervix but that I did have both ovaries & tubes.  Because of the absence of the uterus I have never had a "normal" period.  My body has a cycle but it forms cysts in place of a period.  I also found out at 16 that I would never be able to carry my own child.  When I was 20 I had a McIndoe Procedure performed to fix the absense of the cervix & have had a healthy sex life since.  Just when I thought everything was normal....at 29 I had to have my right ovary taken out due to it being enlarged & causing tremendous pain.  Now, I'm 34 & have one healthy ovary and for the past yr I have been on a very low dosage of estrogen & my gyno says everything is fine.  

Husband & I have been together for 4yrs/married for 7mts & are in the beginning stage of gathering information about our options.  We are in the process of looking for a doctor in the Houston area & are even looking at surrogate agencies that may help us fullfill our dream.  If the surrogate route is not right for us then adoption is our next step. 

If anyone has any advice or has maybe been down the path we are on... we would appreciate all your advice & support we can get.

I know this can all be so overwhelming at first. I was in your shoes
not too long ago. I had actually already started
talking to an adoption agency when I started reading about surrogacy
and the adoption agency said it could take over a year before we were
matched. I decided to do my own search for a surrogate and decided to go the independent route.

I now have a 17 month old healthy son through surrogacy! Our GS was from the DFW area and she was only about 40 min. away, which was nice... so we did most everything in the Dallas area. Our RE was Dr. Saleh (here on the boards - Sher Institute i.e. SIRM), our lawyer was David Cole.
