can u please give me info? I am a surrogate & had 3 ivf's. The first 2 didnt work i went 4 the 3rd 1 on 16.4.9 on 17.4. I started 2 bleed. It was not a period bleeding. It was bright red. I phoned medfem clinic in sandton, jhb, SA. They did the ivf. The dr said i must stop the ecotrin that i was on. Then the bleeding will stop in 2 days. It didnt. On monday i phone them again & dr said then he dont know whats wrong, i must go 4 a scan. My dr said the bleeding isnt a misscarage bleeding & doesnt come from the uterus. I phoned the dr @ medfem & he perscribed cykloapron 2 stop the bleeding. It did, but when the pills was finished the bleeding was back. I am also on geststone & progynova. I talked 2 him again & still he cant give me answer. No he said my servics is brittle & that just started 2 bleed. He cant tell me why or how long it will go on. & thats what i want 2 know!! Why & how long? All he says is i must not sleep with my husband 4 the next 9months, if i am pregnant. Do u perhaps have any info 4 me? Kind regards.

At the time of the bleeding we didnt know yet as the IVF was done on 16.4.9 and I started to bleed on 17.4.9. it stoped on 22.04.09 only to start again on 24.04.09. but I went for my blood test on 27.4.09 and it was negative.

Then you bled due to withdrawal of your hormone levels. That is common when things do not work. This is the result of the lack of pregnancy, not the cause. Hope all works out in future.

But at the time of the bleeding I was still on the Gestone (100mg) and the progynova (6mg). it started a day after the IVF.

I would discuss with your RE taking a higher dose.
