When to tell your employer?

As a surrogate, when did you tell your employer? How did they take it? How long did you get off of work? |

I let my employer know what I was doing and they were o.k. with it. I had surro twins and had to be taken out of work in my 5th month. I was not allowed to go back to work until the doctor cleared me which was 6 weeks after the birth. I think they would have been happier if I could have worked until the birth, but they did not say anything to me. They were great about the whole thing. |

I told my last employer (my boss/supervisor) when I was still in the planning stages. So the pregnancy wasn't a surprise. |
