I gave birth for the 2nd time to my first surrogate baby on January
29th 2009. She is so perfect and has taught me so much. I want to help
her to have the best, healthiest start to life I can. I have been
pumping her breast milk and shipping it across the country. It is time
consuming and and very exspensive. But I know the benefits will be
great. I am however now suffering some nice side effects that can go
along with breast feeding. I am longing for a little support but don't
feel like I can join the local breast feeding support group because I
don't actually have the baby. Has any other surrogates out there gone
thru what I am? Have any words of wisdom or encouragement for a
surrogate trying to do whats right?

I'm an IM so I can't give you any advice.. I tried to breastfeed, but the meds (Domperidone) were interacting with my meds and after 4 weeks I had to stop breastfeeding.. but I can give you support! I think it's a wonderful thing you are doing for your IPs and their baby. I am a member of cafemom.com and I bet you there are some great breat feeding support groups on that site. I wish you the best of luck!

I'm an IM too and think it's so great what you are doing for your IPs. Hang in there, I know it has to be time consuming and pricey, but I can only imagine how grateful your IPs are for doing that for them. I know I would be.

Doing just lovely!

I am very enspired by hearing that you are doing this for your IPs (and Natalie of course!). If you can get anything out of my message, know that I hadn't really thought this far in the process, but now if my IPs would be willing to allow me to do this I would LOVE to do this for them as well. I am so sorry you are having side effects and I know the process has to be exhausting, pumping and shipping the milk all of the time. I consider you SuperSurro! Great job and hope you feel better soon!

Live your life to the fullest!

I didn't want them to pay for it. I felt that is was a wonderful gift that only i could give her. If they paid for it, it wouldn't have felt the same.
