I have a question for the experienced IP's and Surrogates!

Who was in your delivery room at the hospital? We are almost positive our surrogate will have a c-section, but not 100% sure. I haven't talked to her yet about how we would go about all of that as it's still very early. But I'm curious to know how everyone else's delivery experience went. thanks!

Both my husband and I were in the delivery room during our surro's c-section. Her OB was fine with us being there thankfully. I was there by her side holding her hand. My DH was taking pics and her DH was right beside me holding her hand too.

That was the most special day of my life. My surro brought our little angel into this world so beautifully. She is our everything. I love my surro!

I had to have a c-section with my surro twins this past time and my Dr. would only let one person in there with us.  which sucked cause I really wanted mom and dad to be there and I really wanted my husband there to support me, so I had to choose.  I chose the mom.

This next journey I am using a differant Dr. and I done ask him if we have to have another section, hopefully want but if, could everyone be in there and he said as long as its not a emergency section he would make an exception to have all 3 in there.  YEH!!!!

Hopefully no section though!!!  as long as its not twins again, if it is I most definantly will have to have it.

Good luck!!

Our surrogate had a c-section. Fortunately, her DH, my DH and myself were all allowed in the room. Her OB said he didn't mind who was in the room, but that it was up to the anesthesiologist. He fortunately let us all in the room.

Well my dear ladies,

A lot has happened since my last visit on the 25th of last mo. We scheduled the c-sec for Nov 24th at 7 am, checking in at 5 am  but as of a week and 1/2 ago our surrogate has been put on level 2 bed rest, which means up to go to the bathroom, quck shower and allowed to make herself and her family something to eat but other than that it is 8-9 hrs of sleep per night and laying on left side the rest of the day. She went in on the 2nd for  the regular level 2 US that is done every 6 weeks and it shouwed signifigant shortening of the cervix. She was 50% efacd at that time wich instead of 4 cm long it was only 2, so then she was rechecked again 1 week later which was 3 days ago on Tuesday and had gone down to 1.76 so now she is about 65% efaced. Fortunately no dialation at all but when she is up for too long feels alot of pressure, I always did even with just one baby but I always carried low. So she is going to be rechecked again in one week, 19th, and see if there has been more changes or not. I am really believing that they are going to make an appearance sooner than they should and I just pray that they are healthy. Has any ladies gone thru this and wht was your out come?

Well as of the day before yesterday everything changed. Our SM was put in the hospital at about 80% efaced and funneling and the water bag funneled into the cervix, she will be staying in the hospital till irth at this point unless her cervix lengthens from this gell they are using. We had a FFn test doe yesrterday and it was positive but I know thats not conclusive. However, my thoughts are that they are going to come in a few weeks.

I had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery, so it's a little different than if it were a c-section. My mom and my cousin were there for me, and the baby's mom and aunt were there for her (and me, obviously). I am so thankful we were able to have an induction. I wanted Susan (the baby's adoptive mother) to be there, and she was! :) It was the most amazing experience EVER. And to see the look on her face when her baby was born... I will never, ever forget it.

Will be a surrogate again some day... even after all I've been through
